County Athletics Final

On 13th January 2010 21 children from Years 5 & 6 competed at Temple Park Leisure Centre in South Shields. They were participating in the Tyne and Wear Schools Sportshall Athletics County Finals where the prize for winning the event would be to represent Tyne and Wear County in a Regional Final. They competed with amazing team spirit, supporting one another throughout the events and were fanastic to win such an event. They are now the BEST in the entire county!!! What an achievement, I am so proud of each one of them for their 100% commitment and desire to suceed. Mr Rogers even won the teachers Javelin comepetition.

The children competed in various athletics challenges including sprint events, hurdles, jumps, throws and agility tests where they would be given points relating to the position in which they finished. Individual victories on the day included:

Kate Jackson - Javelin

Chloe Allan - Vertical Jump

Joseph Shearer - Vertical Jump

Owen Carroll - Chest Push

Andrew Shearer - Speed Bounce

Over and Under Relay - Daniel Maddison, Daniel Wilkinson, Ryan Noble & Tom Falcus
